General Nursing
The Old Rectory Nursing Home offers comprehensive nursing care for patients with a variety of medical needs, including diabetes, Parkinson’s disease, COPD, stroke, and other long-term conditions. To ensure high standards of care, the nursing home is staffed with a Registered General Nurse (RGN) 24 hours a day. Complementing our registered nurses is a dedicated team of nursing assistants, care team leaders, and healthcare assistants, all focused on meeting the diverse needs of our patients.
Residents at The Old Rectory Nursing Home have the option to continue care with their existing doctor or to transition to our designated local surgery. The local surgery provides ongoing medical care and treatment, with frequent reviews to maintain and enhance the health and wellbeing of our patients.
Palliative & End of Life Nursing
In addition to providing general nursing care, The Old Rectory Nursing Home offers specialised palliative care for patients with terminal illnesses and progressive conditions. Each patient is assessed in accordance with the Gold Standards Framework (GSF) to ensure that their palliative and end-of-life care needs and wishes are fully incorporated into their care plan.
For those requiring palliative and end-of-life care, our staff at The Old Rectory Nursing Home are dedicated to ensuring the highest possible comfort and quality of life. We work closely with community specialist palliative care nurses to optimise symptom management and enhance the well-being of your loved one.
Support and counselling are also offered to both patients and their families, ensuring that their emotional and psychological well-being is compassionately maintained.
